About this project

What does One-Block Adventure add?

Hytale One Block World – Survive on a Single Block!

Ever wondered how far you can make it starting from just one block? In this Hytale mod, every time you break the initial block beneath your feet, a new one appears — with materials that evolve over time as you progress through different ages. Craft, build, explore, and survive your way from the humble Grass Block beginnings to the Cobalt Age! This is my first large-scale Hytale mod — still in early access, so expect some rough edges. I’d love your feedback on what features or challenges you’d like to see next!

Once the plugin is active, your one-block adventure begins automatically in a brand-new void world. You’ll see different types of blocks appear as you play and progress through various phases. If you want to check your progress or restart, you can use these simple commands below. (You might need to run /op self before you can use them.)

Create a New One-Block World

/one-block new

Spawns a completely new one-block world and teleports you to it. The world is empty except for a single block at coordinates (0, 64, 0) — your starting point! Each time you run this command, it creates a new unique world.

Clean Up Old Worlds

/one-block prune

Deletes all existing one-block test worlds from your server (any world starting with papiSpieltOneBlock-). Perfect for a fresh start after experimenting.

Check Your Progress

/one-block status

Opens a in-game menu showing your current phase, quest goals, your block break count, and what you need to do to reach the next age. You’ll see each requirement with item icons, progress counts, and checkboxes to track what’s done.

Every phase unlocks new materials, mobs, and challenges. You move to the next phase once all requirements are complete.

Phase What You Need to Advance
Getting Started Have a Crude Pickaxe + Crude Hatchet
Wood Age Place a Tier 1 Workbench within 8 blocks
Copper Age Have Copper Pickaxe + Copper Hatchet
Iron Age Have Iron Pickaxe + Iron Hatchet + Tier 2 Workbench
Thorium Age Collect 10× Thorium Bars
Cobalt Age — Final phase!

As you advance, the one-block can generate better resources:

Phase New Block Types
Getting Started Grass, Dirt
Wood Age + Birch, Oak, Stone, Groundwater Stone
Copper Age + Mossy Gravel, Copper Ore
Iron Age + Clay, Iron Ore, Coal, Pine
Thorium Age + Slate, Thorium Ore
Cobalt Age + Basalt, Volcanic Rock, Cobalt Ore

Small plants and decorations (scatter blocks) can also spawn on top of the main block as you level up, making the area feel more alive.

Starting in the Copper Age, friendly and hostile creatures can appear nearby after each block break. Expect peaceful critters first — but as you reach the Iron Age and beyond, tougher mobs will join the fun!

This rare bluish glowing stone starts showing up in the Wood Age. You’ll need a Copper Pickaxe to break it, and it drops a Water Bucket — perfect for early farming or survival builds!

So grab your tools, break that first block, and see how far you can go. Welcome to Hytale One Block World — where survival starts with just one block!
