About this project
What does Difficulty Enhancement add?
Easy, Normal and Hard in vanilla Minecraft don't really change much. This mod lets you build your own difficulty out of small modifiers.
Pick what you want when you make a world. The harder you go, the more you earn!
Forge 1.20.1 | Client & Server

- When you make a new world, this screen pops up before you can do anything. You can't get hurt while it's open.
- Every modifier has a weight. Weight pushes the skull up the bar: Normal, Hard, Veteran, Chaos. It gets angrier the higher it goes.
- After you confirm, you can still add more later. Taking one away means the world loses its rewards, so think a bit.
- Keep Inventory is a switch on the side and doesn't count for anything.

About 70 of them in a normal pack, split into Easy, Medium, Expert and Master. Small stuff like thinner food and pricier villagers, up to blood moons, mobs that heal off you and no sleeping ever.
Then there's Challenges. These don't add weight, they just change how you play. One life, no beds, vegetarian, stuck in third person, a random boss every 3 days, that kind of thing.

If you don't want to pick one by one, there are 19 presets. Hover one to see what's inside.
You can save your own and share it as a code. Your friend pastes it into Import code and gets it

Hold Shift on the screen to see what each tier gives you:

- XP: mobs drop more of it the more weight you have, up to +50%.
- Boss bags: from Hard up, everyone who hit a boss gets a Treasure Bag with a share of its loot.
- Chaos: bags drop twice, they can hold a relic (Totem, Notch apple, or Artifacts stuff if you have it), and every boss drops a named trophy.
- Medals: challenges marked Medal give you one when a boss dies near you.

None of these are needed. If one is installed, its modifiers show up. If not, they stay hidden.
- Iron's Spells / Ars Nouveau: mana, spell fizzle, slower casting and so on.
- Waystones, L2 Hostility, Corpse, Sophisticated Backpacks, FTB Ultimine, Pehkui: one or two modifiers each.
- Curios, Shoulder Surfing: so the existing modifiers behave with them.
- Class Enhancement: new worlds go difficulty first, then class.

- One difficulty per world. In multiplayer, ops pick it
/de setupopens the screen again./de rewardsshows what your world is gettin or earning.- Server config has the chances and numbers for things like broken legs and bleeding. Client config has a reduce motion switch if the animations bother you.
- Presets and modifiers are datapack files, so packs can change or add their own.
