About this project

What does AE2 Crafting Time add?

AE2 Crafting Time

AE2 Crafting Time is an unofficial Applied Energistics 2 addon for figuring out why an autocrafting job is taking forever—or why it looks stuck.

It learns from completed crafts on the server, then uses that history to estimate when current jobs should finish. The estimates appear inside AE2's crafting plan and status screens, so you can spot slow outputs and bottlenecks without guessing from recipe depth or machine counts.

It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Applied Energistics 2 team.

What it does

  • Shows TTC (Time to Craft) for individual outputs and the current job.
  • Highlights faster and slower outputs with color hints.
  • Sorts crafting rows by TTC.
  • Shows retained performance details when you Ctrl-click an entry.
  • Lets you Ctrl-Alt-click an entry to forget outdated stats for that output.
  • Saves retained samples in the world so estimates survive restarts.
  • Keeps profiling on the server and sends clients only aggregate results.

An output needs at least one completed crafting sample before it can have an estimate. In multiplayer, install the mod on both the client and server.

Optional integrations

Depending on your Minecraft version and loader, AE2 Crafting Time can also add TTC support for:

  • AE2: Crafting Tree
  • ME Requester
  • Applied Mekanistics chemicals
  • AdvancedAE crafting CPUs on NeoForge

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge
  • Minecraft 1.20.1 Fabric
  • Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge
  • Minecraft 26.1.2 NeoForge

Applied Energistics 2 is required.

Development disclosure

Yes, AI helps me write this mod. Java isn't my main language, but I have enough engineering experience to direct and review the work. I expect the code to stay tested, maintainable, scalable, and reusable, and I review what ships.

AI also helps with documentation, translations, release notes, and publishing. The mod does not use generative AI while running and does not include AI-generated visual assets.
