About this project
What does Safepaths (MineColonies) add?
🌿 Safepaths (MineColonies)
Bring your world to life with dynamic, organic paths and high-speed road networks!
Safepaths allows players (and friendly NPCs like MineColonies citizens) to naturally create dirt paths simply by walking over the same blocks repeatedly. Established paths reward traveling entities with a configurable speed boost, making travel through your base, town, or colony faster and more immersive.
With v2.0.0 (Paved Horizons), you can now configure custom conversions directly in-game using an interactive visual palette, turn existing paved blocks (like gravel or stone bricks) into high-speed roadways with zero terrain damage, and enjoy seamless compatibility with popular biome mods out of the box!
✨ Features
🚶 Organic Path Creation: Walk over eligible terrain (grass, dirt, podzol, mud, sand) multiple times to naturally compress it into paths over time.
⚡ Speed-Only Roadways (Self-Mapping): Want paved speedways without replacing blocks? Map any block to itself (e.g. stone_bricks ➔ stone_bricks or gravel ➔ gravel) to grant the speed bonus with zero block conversion, zero footstep counting, and zero decay!
🎨 In-Game Visual Conversion Editor: Configure your custom path conversions in-game! Includes an interactive block palette, real-time search filter, item icons, animated selection borders, and a master speed boost toggle and multiplier slider.
🏃 Seamless Speed Boost: Traveling on paths grants a smooth movement speed bonus (default matches Speed I: +20%) with a built-in grace period over slabs, stairs, jumps, and 1-block road gaps so your camera and FOV never jitter.
⏳ Authentic Decay Restoration: Unused paths will naturally revert over time, keeping your world dynamic. Paths revert back to their authentic original ground block (sand paths revert to sand, peat paths to peat). Active, regularly walked roads automatically refresh their timer and stay established.
🌍 Extensive Biome Mod Support: Works 100% out of the box with vanilla-block worldgen mods like Terralith and Geophilic. Comes pre-configured with soil defaults for Oh The Biomes We've Gone (BWG), Biomes O' Plenty (BOP), and Regions Unexplored.
🏛️ MineColonies Compatible (Optional): Citizens, visitors, and mercenaries naturally create paths and enjoy the speed boost during their daily work routines! Barbarians and raiders are strictly blocked.
🛡️ Farmland & Building Protection: Vanilla farmland, any block with farmland in its ID, and all MineColonies structures and fields are completely safe from path conversion.
🌐 Multi-Language Support: Fully translated into 9 languages (English, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Turkish, and Brazilian Portuguese).
⚙️ Fully Configurable & Data-Driven: Easily customize required passes, speed multipliers, decay timers, and block/entity datapack tags to fit your modpack's playstyle. Server-side authoritative — works smoothly in singleplayer and on servers.
