About this project

What does Better herding add?

Better Herding is a simple yet Quality of Life (QoL) mod

If you have ever tried to lead a group of cows or sheep across a long distance in vanilla Minecraft, you know the struggle: you have to walk incredibly slowly, constantly turn around to make sure they haven't lost interest, and wait for their slow mobs to catch up. This mod fixes all of that!

Features & How It Affects Gameplay
Expanded Follow Range: Animals will now notice you and start following from up to 20 blocks away They will only lose interest and stop following if you get further than 26 blocks away.
Sprint-Friendly Speed: No more sneaking or walking slowly! Animals now sprint after you at You can confidently sprint back to your base and they will easily keep up with you.
Responsive Pathfinding: The pathfinding updates little bit faster. This means animals are far less likely to get stuck behind blocks or fall behind while navigating hills and forests.
Vanilla Friendly: The mod does not add or change any items. It perfectly preserves all vanilla temptation and breeding mechanics (e.g., Cows still follow Wheat, Pigs still follow Carrots).
Affected Animals
This enhanced herding behavior automatically applies to standard farm animals:

Cows
Sheep
Pigs
Chickens
Technical Info
Server-Side If you are running a multiplayer server, it only needs to be installed on the server. Connecting players do not need to download it!
Say goodbye to the tedious, frustrating process of moving animals to your pens. With Better Herding
