Unsay brings modern, native-feeling message controls directly into Minecraft chat.

Delete, edit, and reply to chat messages directly from the chat screen. Changes are synchronized through the server, so when you edit or remove one of your messages, every connected player sees the result.

Unsay is currently in beta. Feedback and bug reports help shape each release.

Delete messages

Hold Shift while hovering over one of your messages to reveal its controls.

Click the trash icon to remove that individual message for everyone.

With an empty chat input, you can also quickly delete your latest message using:

  • Shift + Delete
  • Shift + Backspace

Unsay also includes a lightweight selection mode:

  • Ctrl + click to select or deselect individual messages
  • Ctrl + Shift + A to select the available chat history
  • Press Delete to remove everything selected
  • Press Esc to cancel the selection

While messages are selected, the chat input temporarily steps out of the way. Once the action is finished or cancelled, the input returns exactly as it was.

Operators can also select and remove messages sent by other players.


Edit messages

Start editing in either of these ways:

  • Hold Shift and click the pencil icon beside your message
  • Leave the input empty and press Shift + to browse your recent messages

Press Enter to apply the edit for everyone.

Submitting an empty edit removes the message instead.

Reply to messages

Click the reply arrow beside a tracked message.

Unsay adds a compact quote containing the original sender and a short message preview before your response.

Requirements

  • Unsay must be installed on both the client and server
  • Fabric installations require Fabric API
  • Forge versions are also available
  • Java 17 or newer is required
  • Check the Versions tab for the correct Minecraft version and loader

Unsay is designed for multiplayer servers but also works in singleplayer.
