About this project

What does DoxLeaning (TaCZ Recommendation) add?

Short description

Lean left/right to peek around corners without fully exposing yourself. Server-authoritative and frame-interpolated, so **what you see is what gets hit** — your rendered lean and the server's hit judgment use the same angle. Works on its own, and automatically meshes with hitbox and gun mods when present.

Features

  • **Peek leaning** — tilt your upper body left/right (default **Q/E**). First-person camera rolls and slides sideways to look past cover.

  • **Server-synced, deterministic** — only the target direction is networked; both sides ease to the same angle. Render (client) and hit detection (server) stay in lockstep.

  • **Wall damping** — leaning toward a nearby wall smoothly pulls the **camera** back so your view never clips through blocks. Your hitbox and your shots keep the full offset.

  • **HOLD / TOGGLE input modes** — hold the key, or tap to toggle. Switchable in-game (config: config/doxlean/lean.json).

  • **Your shots follow the lean — with any weapon** — projectiles are repositioned at spawn, so vanilla bows, crossbows, tridents, thrown items **and other gun mods** all fire from where you're actually looking. No per-mod support needed.

  • **Leaning hides your other side** — the hitbox shifts behind cover as you peek, instead of just getting wider. Peeking costs you exposure on one side and buys concealment on the other.

  • **Works while hugging cover** — wall damping keeps the camera out of blocks without shrinking your hitbox or your line of fire, so you don't have to stand exactly on the corner.

  • **Addon-friendly** — standalone by design. With a hitbox engine installed, your hitbox follows the lean with per-part precision. Gun-tuck follows the lean when a taczadditions-style setup is present.

  • **Translated into 20 languages.**

Minecraft versions

This mod ships two lines, and they are not interchangeable:

  • **1.x** — Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge

  • **2.x** — Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge

Both are maintained. Pick the file whose major version matches your loader; a 1.x file will simply not load on 1.21.1, and vice versa. Dependencies follow the same rule — 2.x mods require 2.x of the Dox mods they depend on.

Requirements

  • **DoxCore** (required, matching version line).

Controls

  • Lean Left / Lean Right — default **Q** / **E** (rebindable). ⚠️ These overlap vanilla Drop(Q)/Inventory(E); rebind either side if you keep vanilla defaults.

  • Toggle Lean Input Mode — unbound by default.
