About this project

What does ProjectE Universal EMC Bridge add?

What it does

Place one block. Anything that reads a normal inventory can now spend and earn your ProjectE EMC.

  • Put items in → burned for EMC, your balance goes up
  • Pull items out → created from EMC, your balance goes down

Works with AE2 Storage Bus, Refined Storage 2 External Storage, Mekanism Logistical Transporter, Pipez, Entangled and a plain vanilla hopper — all verified in game, not assumed.

Why this exists

If you use AE2, AppliedE goes deeper than this mod and you should use it — EMC as a real AE2 key type, wired into autocrafting.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1
  • ProjectE 1.1.0 or newer — required, the mod will not load without it

Crafting

Purpur Block, Diamond, Transmutation Table, Philosopher's Stone.

Setting what it hands out

Click the output slot holding an item and the interface offers only that item. Click it empty-handed and it offers everything you have learned.

You can do the same from a command:

/universalemcbridge filter <x> <y> <z> output minecraft:diamond

In your storage network

Everything you have learned appears as stock, priced from your balance. Pull an item and the balance pays for it.

Because it is one balance projected as many items, pulling one item lowers the amount available of every other item. That is the design, not a bug.

⚠ Before you put one on a server

IItemHandler carries no action source. The block cannot tell who is pulling from it, so anyone who can reach it can spend the owner's EMC — including hoppers and pipes placed by other players.

Place EMC Interfaces inside protected areas only.

Two things everyone hits

"My storage network shows nothing." Output slots are built from your ProjectE Knowledge, not your balance. Learn nothing and there is nothing to show, however much EMC you hold. Burning items in the interface does not teach them — learnOnBurn is off by default, and deliberately so, because a sorting system feeding the interface would otherwise hand you the whole transmutation table. Use a Transmutation Table once, as normal.

"One item keeps coming out." That is the puller, not the interface. An unfiltered puller takes from the first slot that works and never moves on. Set the interface's output instead, as above.

Careful: attach a puller to an unconfigured interface and it will drain the owner's EMC buying whatever sits in the first slot.

Not supported

  • Team EMC sharing (TeamProjectE)
  • AE2 / Refined Storage autocrafting — use AppliedE for that
  • Atomicity between an external inventory and the EMC account
