About this project

What does CPM Visual Bridge add?

CPM Visual Bridge

See each player's Customizable Player Models character when powers from other mods would normally turn them into a vanilla Steve or Alex.

CPM Visual Bridge is a client-side multiplayer compatibility addon for Customizable Player Models on NeoForge 1.21.1. When a player activates a supported power, every client with the bridge can render the correct CPM model in that power's copy, illusion, projection or replacement renderer. It preserves the original pose, animation, equipment, transparency, colours, scale and visual effects whenever possible.

Why is this needed?

Many mods render player copies, projections, illusions or abilities through their own models instead of Minecraft's normal player renderer. Because that bypasses CPM, other players may see a vanilla Steve or Alex instead of the custom model.

CPM Visual Bridge provides small, isolated compatibility adapters for those renderers. If an integration is absent or incompatible, it falls back to the original renderer instead of breaking the effect.

Current integrations

  • Cybernetics: CPM models and Pehkui scale in Sandevistan mirages and Holoprojector projections
  • Relics: CPM appearance for Glitchy Illusion entities while preserving pose, equipment, transparency, colours and the glitch effect
  • Mowzie's Mobs: CPM models during supported first- and third-person ability animations

Features

  • Designed for multiplayer and also works in singleplayer
  • Client-side only; no installation required on a dedicated server
  • Target mods are optional
  • Safe fallback to each mod's original renderer
  • Preserves supported poses, animations, held items, colours, transparency and effects
  • Preserves Pehkui player scale in supported projections
  • Adaptive Sandevistan model density to protect client performance
  • Individual client configuration for every integration

Multiplayer installation

Install CPM Visual Bridge on every client that should see CPM models inside supported powers. The server remains responsible for the entity, ability, damage and synchronization through the original target mod.

Example: when Player A uses a supported power, Player B sees Player A's CPM model in its illusion or projection only if Player B has CPM Visual Bridge installed.

Scope

The bridge focuses on 3D player rendering created by powers and external mods. It does not replace flat head icons in JourneyMap, chat messages, the player list or other 2D interfaces. Those portraits require a separate rendering system and generally cannot reproduce complex CPM models cleanly.

Requirements

Cybernetics, Relics, Mowzie's Mobs and Pehkui are optional. Install only the target mods whose integrations you want to use.

Configuration

Every integration can be enabled or disabled independently in "config/cpmvisualbridge-client.toml".

Adaptive Sandevistan rendering also has a separate performance option.

Support and compatibility requests

When reporting a problem, include the Minecraft, NeoForge, CPM and affected target-mod versions, the CPM model type, whether it happens in first or third person, "latest.log", and a screenshot or short recording when possible.
