About this project

What does Useless Stretcher add?

Omni-Stretcher · Useless Stretcher

An addon mod for Useless Mod, built as an extension to its Omni Alloy Furnace system: It makes "Patterns" universally compatible, enables remote pattern delivery, and expands pattern slots to 4096. It also adds three 4-fold/9-fold dimensional blocks, and a time staff that accelerates machines.

Required Dependencies: Useless Mod + AE2 + Java 21

Main Features

Omni-Universal Block

Provides universal pattern compatibility. Select the patterns it "carries" in its GUI, and it will satisfy any selected pattern requirement for the alloy furnace — one batch of input materials counts as a full set of patterns. Can be bound to a specified AE network (only records one UUID; no coordinates are stored inside the item).

Omni-Stretcher

A remote pattern tool. Bind a target with Shift + Right-click to remotely write or read patterns. Press to fetch all patterns from every machine of the same mod in one click. Batch retrieve or remove a section of patterns by anchor point. Duplicate patterns across different pattern sets are automatically deduplicated.

4096-Slot Expansion

Pattern Assembly and Passive Crafting Inventory are expanded to 4096 slots, paginated with 90 slots per page (10×9). 540-slot data from old saves will be upgraded in-place — there is no need to break and replace the block.

Four Dimensional Blocks

Available in 4-fold and 9-fold block dimensions, each with "Even Center" and "Odd Center" variants. Each of the four valid arrangements has its own crafting recipe. Floor blocks support whitelist/blacklist configuration (including modid:* wildcard support).

Staff of Desolate Time Sundial

Fully inherits all functions of the Staff of Creation's Favor, and adds time acceleration capabilities:

  • Accelerates machines and AE nodes
  • Speeds up animal growth
  • Accelerates the day/night cycle
  • Can summon real lightning from thunderstorms via a Lightning Rod, with adjustable power tiers

Tiers: Off / x2 / x4 / x16 / x32 / x64 / x128 / x256 / x512 / x1024. Supports both Normal Mode and Permanent Mode.

Built-in recipes: 8 crafting table recipes, including Dragon's Breath, Elytra, Scute, Enchanted Golden Apple, Wither Rose, Shulker Shell, and more — available as needed.

Performance: Acceleration uses a "pending tick cache", executing at most 256 operations per game tick to prevent server lag at high multipliers. Idle machines automatically throttle down to save performance, and return to full speed immediately when activated.

Quick Usage Guide

  • Time Acceleration in the G-wheel = master switch for the staff's acceleration (when disabled, all acceleration functions are completely inactive).
  • Shift + Scroll Wheel: Switch acceleration tiers.
  • Shift + Right-click: Accelerate machines / AE nodes / Lightning Rods (Shift + Right-click the sun or moon to accelerate the day/night cycle).
  • Shift + Left-click: Speed up baby animal growth / reduce adult animal breeding cooldown.

Configuration

Config file: config/useless_stretcher-common.toml (restart the game after editing)

Configurable options:

  • Disable EIO Semi-Automatic Mill grinding ball recipes
  • Toggle machine highlight box transparency
  • Whitelist/blacklist for 4-fold/9-fold dimensional floor blocks
  • Idle throttling toggle

All configuration descriptions are written in Chinese.

Compatibility & Notes

  • This mod modifies the internal implementation of Useless Mod, so their versions must be matched. If the game fails to launch after a major Useless Mod update, please check the latest release notes for this mod.
  • Our 4-fold/9-fold dimensions are independently implemented generators. They do not yet generate the border strips, roads, or center markers added in Useless Mod 2.3.6.
  • Fully compatible with JEI. This mod does not register any recipe catalysts, so it will not cause alloy furnace recipes to appear duplicated.
  • Must be installed on both client and server.
