About this project
What does Ecliptica add?
Hello fellow, Ecliplings!!!
I'm currently fixing/patching and making the new update! Check the teaser pic!!! Thank you! Please report any odd things!!! I don't bite! :3
Ecliptica is officialy downloadable and new! Expect bugs/issues :3
Status: v0.2.0 Patching and Testing
Compatibility: NeoForge 1.21.1 Is Out Now
I didn't think it was possible for me to do but, I've made this mod playable for NeoForge 1.21.1! :3
About Forge v1.20.1. There were 2 plugins I couldn't use. The software version couldn't support them. I hope you understand :( NeoForge will and still continue.
(Latest: v0.1.0)
🎃 Happy Harvest Moon! 🎃
This mod hasn't been tested with any shaders! Keep in mind that the sky and Sun/Moon renders may get removed, retextured with a shader (like a round Sun/Moon), or appear glitched.
This mod also hasn't been tested in multiplayer. That's why this has been noted "Client-side". If you're playing with someone, please let me know how it works for Server-side.
Recommend playing with a Modpack! Unless you just want to play Vanilla Minecraft with Ecliptica.
════════════ ECLIPTICA ════════════
Are you sick of those 8 by 8 pixels in the sky always looking the same or not doing much? Then use my mod!
Ecliptica brings events to Minecraft that can actually affect your world. Starting with the Solar Eclipse, with more events planned for future updates.
So... why just look at the sky when it can actually do something? :3
This is my first public mod. I hope y'all enjoy it! :3
════════════ CURRENT EVENTS ════════════
☀️ Solar EclipseSolar Eclipse is the first event coming to Ecliptica.
• Gradually changes as the eclipse progresses
• Lasts approximately 4 minutes
More coming soon :3
════════════ EVENT FORECAST ════════════
Keep an eye out for the Event Forecast!
The Event Forecast can announce when an event is beginning, giving you a warning that something is about to happen.
You can enable the Event Forecast with the command /ecliptica enable event_forecast(This does not require Cheats to be enabled, but this may change in the next major update.)
════════════ PLANNED EVENTS ════════════
🎃 Harvest Moon
Underdevelopment!
🩸 Blood Moon
Planned for the next update.
🌑 Blue Moon
Planned for a future update.
More events are planned as development continues.
════════════ DEVELOPMENT ════════════
Ecliptica is currently in early development. The mod will continue to receive new events, mechanics, and features in future updates.
I will also add a type of this mod, which will add content instead of only a visual-play!
(This might be possible to avoid using variables!)
This mod uses special math scripts as logic, for the animations, timing, and more. If you want to learn more, scroll all the way down!
Please report anything in the comments, or feel free to contact me if you happen to find something that isn't working or is broken. Feedback is appreciated! And we want to keep your eyes stimulated throughout your adventure! :3
════════════ EVENT NOTES ════════════
Every 1 minute, the game has a 2% chance to trigger a Solar Eclipse if it is daytime.
If you want to force a Solar Eclipse, you can use /ecliptica event set solar_eclipse
Treat the "/ecliptica event set" as a "/time set".
(In one in-game day. The game will roll 20 times for an Event)
As more events are added to the mod, they will be added to the event chance pool, giving each event its own chance of occurring.
════════════ HOW IT WORKS ════════════
(Some of it)
Chances of Event occuring
This uses 2 math variables. event_gamble will count from 0 to 1200 (1min) then reset + trigger a 2% chance of doing nothing OR set event_type to 1 IF event_type = 0. This can then be followed by the Events condition.
For the Solar Eclipse, this can only occur during the day.
(This repeats every minute) Note: This gambles 20 times in one Minecraft day.
The event_gamble is a 'timer'. The event_type is a 'event selector'. The event selector will pick a number when its chance succeeds, as long as that number is assigned to an event. Like Solar Eclipse, which is 1.
(This triggers a different procedure)
Animation and pngs
The sun replacement uses 8 seperate png's. A moon replacement uses 1 png.
I'm using 8 because the moon_phases has 8 different moon phases. And I was limited to one png to edit for the sun. So I instead tried to make it close to a Vanilla style without being to mod-like. And made 8 pngs that animate/replicate an Eclipse.
(For the Solar Eclipse)
A procedure tells the named pngs to execute each png, starting from solar_eclipse_1.png, to solar_eclipse_8.png
(IF the solar_eclipse_timer passes 30s)
When the solar_eclipse_timer passes 30s. A (solar_eclipse set number), reads every 30s due to the timer. And will then move on to the next (solar_eclipse set number)
Thanks for reading! Ur the best! :3
