About this project

What does Celestial Arsenal add?

Celestial Arsenal

**Cinematic orbital superweapons for Minecraft 1.20.1 (Forge).**

Paint a target with the Celestial Uplink and watch the sky answer. Every strike plays out as a fully directed cutscene: the camera pulls back into orbit, rides the attack down through the atmosphere, and returns to your eyes as the dust settles. Six weapons, from a precision orbital lance to dragging the Moon out of the sky.

> ⚠ **Strikes permanently reshape terrain and use bright, full-screen flashes.** Back up any world you care about. Photosensitive players can turn flashes off in the config.

The Arsenal

**Helios Lance.** An orbital array slews onto your target and charges ring by ring. Then it drives a beam down through the clouds and into the ground. A mushroom cloud rises around the burning column before the lance retracts into the sky.

**Starfall.** The sky turns blood red as a burning rift tears open above the target. Meteors with tumbling rock cores rain down and walk across the area, ending with one oversized finale.

**Event Horizon.** Space cracks open and collapses into a black hole with a spinning accretion disk and pulsing jets. Real-time gravitational lensing warps the world around it before it erases a perfect sphere of terrain.

**Moonfall** *(new in 2.1)*. A graviton tether drags the Moon out of orbit until it fills the sky. Its tide lifts mobs and loose ground into the air. The Moon cracks open, breaks apart at the Roche limit, and its molten core comes down on your mark while the shards crater the land around it.

**Corona** *(new in 2.1)*. The Sun swells and hurls a coronal mass ejection at the planet. Auroras ignite across the daytime sky and an EMP scrambles your HUD. Then a plasma filament reaches down from the Sun and lashes across the land, leaving a trench of glass, magma and obsidian.

**Kessler Cascade** *(new in 2.1)*. Hijack the space station KESTREL-9 and set off a chain of satellite collisions in orbit. You ride the crippled station down through re-entry while burning debris rains over the target. Then the station ploughs straight through your mark and explodes, leaving a field of wreckage.

Built Like a Film

  • **Directed camera work for every strike:** over-the-shoulder lock-ons, orbital pull-backs, chase cams, dolly zooms, cranes and aerial orbits, with smooth blends between shots and handheld sway.
  • **A complete presentation layer:** letterboxing, title cards, a live targeting HUD, radio-chatter subtitles and an after-action report.
  • **Custom post-processing:** bloom, exposure, anamorphic lens flares, shockwave refraction, heat haze, chromatic aberration and black-hole lensing.
  • **A real orbital scene:** a procedural planet with clouds, city lights and an atmosphere, plus stars and the Milky Way. The Moon, the Sun and a falling space station render far beyond normal view distance.
  • **Destruction that feels physical:**
  • debris coloured from the actual terrain;
  • billowing smoke and mushroom clouds;
  • craters that grow outward with the shockwave without freezing the server.
  • **Sound that travels:** players watching from a distance see the flash first and hear the boom later.

How to Use

  1. Craft the **Celestial Uplink**, or take it from the Combat or Tools creative tab.
  2. **Sneak + right-click** to cycle through the six strikes.
  3. Aim at any block within 320 blocks. A targeting laser and a holographic reticle show where the strike will land and how big it will be.
  4. **Right-click** to fire. Press **J** to skip the cutscene (rebindable under Controls → Celestial Arsenal).

Operators can also call strikes directly:

/celestialstrike [x y z]

Recipe

The Uplink is an endgame item.

Configuration

**Gameplay** (config/celestialarsenal-common.toml)

  • destroyTerrain: keep the visuals and damage, but never change blocks.
  • power: blast size and damage, from 0.25 to 4.0 (default 1.0).
  • cooldownSeconds: Uplink cooldown (default 14).
  • maxRange: maximum targeting distance (default 320).
  • protectCaster: the caster is immune to their own strike and to all damage during the cutscene (on by default).
  • blocksPerTick: crater-carving budget per tick. Lower it if your server lags.

**Presentation** (config/celestialarsenal-client.toml)

  • cutscenes: turn off to watch every strike from your own eyes.
  • flashIntensity: set to 0 to disable full-screen flashes and overexposure.
  • shakeIntensity: camera shake strength.
  • postEffects: toggles the screen-space effects.

Multiplayer

Install Celestial Arsenal on the server **and** on every client. Every nearby player sees and hears each strike, and gets shaken by the blast. Only the player who called the strike gets the cutscene. Everyone on a server must run the same version of the mod.

Compatibility

  • Requires **Minecraft 1.20.1** with **Forge 47.x**.
  • Shader packs (OptiFine, Oculus) may change how the screen effects look. Set postEffects = false if anything renders incorrectly.

FAQ

**Is there a Fabric version?**
No. Celestial Arsenal is Forge-only.

**Can I use it in my modpack?**
Yes. The mod is released under the MIT License.

**Can I stop strikes from destroying my builds?**
Yes. Set destroyTerrain = false and strikes will still look and hit just as hard, but no blocks will change.
