About this project
What does Starforge: Galaxy add?
✦ STARFORGE ✦
You have been looking at the same sky for years. Go up there.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Somewhere above your world there are a few billion stars, and every one of them is real. Each has its own planets, its own weather, its own gravity and its own things living on it.
Nobody has been to any of them. That includes the person who made this mod.
Starforge turns Minecraft into a space game without throwing Minecraft away. You still dig. You still build. But the thing you build this time has engines, and when you pull the lever, it leaves.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🚀 YOUR SHIP. YOUR DESIGN.
There’s no model to unlock or kit to buy. Put down a Ship Core, wall it in, add a helm, seal the hull, and the blocks you placed are the ship.
Glass cockpits, a cargo bay full of chests, a bedroom, a farm. If it holds air, it flies.
Then you take off.
The ground drops away, the sky goes black, and your world turns into a small blue circle out the window. Coming down on a new planet, the hull glows orange around the edges as you hit the air, and you get to pick where you land.
If you’d rather not build one yet, the Ship Fabricator will print a finished design from a list: a little Skiff, a Gunship, a Hauler, or a Citizen Carrier with eight cryo berths.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🌌 EVERY PLANET IS SOMEWHERE NEW
Volcanic worlds with lava under a thin crust. Frozen ones where the cold hurts if your suit isn’t up to it. Toxic jungles, glassy deserts, shattered rock floating in pieces, oceans with no land at all.
Some have low gravity and you’ll jump over houses. Some will drag you down.
The galaxy doesn’t end.
Fly in any direction for as long as you want and you’ll keep finding systems. Your world seed builds all of it, so a friend with the same seed finds the same stars in the same places.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
👽 YOU ARE NOT ALONE OUT THERE
Four alien peoples live in villages across the worlds you’ll visit:
- Vel’kari — the sea-loving people.
- Ashborn — inhabitants of the hot worlds.
- Myceli — the people who grow their towns.
- Cryal — dwellers in their ice spires.
They trade. They post jobs on notice boards: deliveries, bounties, surveys, pest problems.
Do enough for them and they’ll start calling you a friend. Keep going and they’ll call you kin, sell you things they keep from strangers, and send warships to fight beside you when you call.
Hurt one of them and they remember that too.
☠️ Pirates, Vaults & Ancient Secrets
Pirates camp on the surface and hunt in orbit. They’ll ambush you between planets, and if they get close enough, they’ll board.
Precursor vaults are sealed behind glyph locks that only open to the right words. Work out the riddle and the door opens. Some of them hold a relic.
⚠️ Something Is Out There
Some worlds have something living under them.
You’ll get a seismic reading the moment you land.
- The Magma Matriarch nests in a volcanic caldera.
- The Crystal Colossus stands among spires of glass.
- The Leviathan drifts in the asteroid belts.
You don’t have to go looking for any of them.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
💎 TWELVE RELICS. THREE SETS.
One star system, one relic. You won’t find all twelve in one place, so you’ll have to travel for them.
Some of the things you’ll find:
- Aegis Shard — makes your shields hold half again as much.
- Phase Heart — means you never take fall damage.
- Warden Core — brings a precursor guardian that strikes anything hostile near you.
- Hearthstone — makes a whole colony work harder.
Collect a full set and they do something more.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🏗️ BUILD A COLONY. LEAVE IT RUNNING.
Plant a Colony Core on a planet you like.
Build mine shafts, farm plots, generators, void taps and chrono spires. Then go back to Earth, find a Spaceport Hiring Hall, hire some colonists, freeze them in cryo berths and fly them up.
Or don’t bother with people and build worker robots instead.
Your colony keeps producing while you’re on the other side of the galaxy.
When you get home, pull it all through the Colony Uplink.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
✨ BREAK ANYTHING DOWN INTO LIGHT
Every item in the game is made of some mix of five kinds of starlight:
| ✦ | TYPE |
|---|---|
| ◆ | Matter |
| ◆ | Life |
| ◆ | Energy |
| ◆ | Void |
| ◆ | Time |
Feed things into a Prism and they split into light. Store the light in a Matter Replicator and copy what you need: diamonds, food, blocks for that ridiculous build you’ve been putting off.
Nothing is ever worth more light than what it was made from, so there are no infinite loops and no exploits.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
⚛️ AND WHEN YOU’RE READY FOR THE ENDGAME…
Build a Particle Collider.
Feed it matter in a ring big enough to see from orbit, and it gives you:
- Antimatter for your warp drive
- Neutronium
- Chronal shards that bend time
- Strange matter
- A contained singularity
- Something called a Probability Core that you should probably be careful with
Some things are better left unexplained until you find them.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🧭 GETTING STARTED
01 — Find Corvanite.
Dig. Corvanite is down in your own overworld, richest around Y = -30. If your area was explored before you installed the mod and there’s none, you can craft it from raw gold, emeralds and a diamond.
02 — Make your first power sources.
Smelt it and craft your first Fuel Cell and Power Cell.
03 — Build your ship.
Build a ship, or have the Ship Fabricator print one for you.
04 — Find your way around.
Craft a Holo Survey Map (compass, map, corvanite, redstone). On any planet it shows every village, vault, outpost and lair around you. Click one and your HUD points the way.
05 — Need help?
Lost? Sneak-right-click any Starforge machine with the Flight Manual and it tells you what to do next.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
⚙️ REQUIREMENTS
- Minecraft: 1.21.1
- Mod Loader: NeoForge 21.1 or newer
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🧪 THIS IS AN EARLY RELEASE
Starforge is big and it is new. Back up your worlds before adding it.
If something breaks, looks wrong, or feels unfair, please tell me in the comments or the issue tracker with your logs/latest.log, and I’ll fix it.
Updates will come often.
Known Issues
- Existing chunks: Chunks you explored before installing the mod have no corvanite ore. Mine in new ground or use the crafting recipe.
- Multiplayer: Multiplayer has had less testing than single player. Desync and crash reports are very welcome.
