About this project

What does Barely Simple Staffs add?

Headline

add a variety of staffs that you can craft and modify

there are 6(7, i wonder if you can find the 7th) Staffs:

Wooden Staff:

there is nothing special about this staff other then it being a bit weaker but faster then a wooden sword.

Bamboo Staff:

this staff rewards every hit by stacking up speed, haste and resistance with every successful hit, of course this effect is capped at some point but it can still be very strong if used right.

Bone Staff:

this staff is as strong as a stone sword but it has a hidden potential when combined with specific materials.

just take a valid material in your offhand and the staff in your mainhand and right click, with that you have attached the material to the weapon, now you are ready to use it in combat.

currently valid materials are: Rotten Flesh, Spider Eye, Slimeball, Magma Cream, Chorus Fruit, Ink Sac, Glow Ink Sac

Blaze Staff:

this staff is similar to a iron sword with the difference being, that it sets mobs on fire and that if you land a critical hit with it on a burning mob it will extinguish the target and deal the remaining seconds it would have been on fire as fire damage.

Shepherd's Staff:

the stats of this staff are similar to the wooden staff but it has reversed knockback when hitting mobs, sheeps will also follow you when you are holding it in your hand.

it can be obtained by trading with master shepherds

Resonance Staff:

this is a netherite upgrade of the shepherd's staff and has similar stats to a iron sword.

it keeps the reversed knockback effect of the shepherd's staff and it can also be modified like the bone staff just with different materials.

currently valid materials are: Amethyst Shard, Diamond, Emerald, Lapis Lazuli, Quartz, Echo Shard

there are some new enchantments too:

Vaulting: makes you able to perform a high jump, can be applied to almost all staffs

Dodging: makes you able to perform a dodge in movement direction, can be applied to the bamboo staff

Domastication: makes all animals follow you, can be applied to the shepherd's staff and the resonance staff

Yearning: makes animals, that follow you, faster, can be applied to the shepherd's staff and the resonance staff

Critical Fixing: repairs the item when landing a critical hit, can be applied to the bamboo staff
