About this project

What does Gilded Doom add?

Overview

This mod overhauls bartering, adds powerful new hammers, unique tomes with special effects, and the Gilded Brute armor set, introducing strategic combat mechanics, custom enchantments, and high-risk, high-reward gameplay for a more dynamic Minecraft experience. Inspired by Charter, this mod also has a Banishment System, allowing you to ban your foes (with a cost.). For the best experience, I heavily recommend combining this mod with Enchancement as this mod is balanced around Enchancement PVP

WARNING

This description has not been updated since The Balancing, things might have been changed, recomended to test before adding to a server or world.

Barter Overhaul

As mentioned in the overview, I have indeed overhauled Bartering, here are some of the additions I made.

  • 1-3 Netherite scraps
  • Ancient Hammer
  • Lodestone
  • Mushroom Stew
  • Leather

For the full list I recommend turning the mod into a zip and looking at the data folder.

Weapons

Custom Enchants
Enchant Description
Knockout Has a chance to inflict Blindness when attacking, with the duration scaling according to how high the target's health is.
Fortitude When attacking at low health, you gain resistance and slowness. At 50%(10HP/5 Hearts): Resistance 1 Slowness 1, at 25%(5HP/2.5 Hearts): Resistance 2 Slowness 2
Torrent Launches entities up into the air when attacking.

Iron Hammer

  • Has the Same Efficiency as a Netherite Pickaxe
  • Damage is low compared to the other hammers
  • Serves as an early-mid game weapon/pickaxe before you get your hands on an ancient hammer

Ancient Hammer

  • Obtained via piglin bartering or villager trading(Expert Weaponsmith).
  • Attacking pulls mobs to the ground, does not apply fall damage to the pull unless they were really high up
  • Mining magma blocks has a 1% chance to drop an Infernal Scrap
  • With Torrent, right clicking sends you to the ground, if you are already on the ground, right clicking activates a shockwave and launches everyone within range up into the air, and if you are not sneaking, everyone within range(including you) gets dealt a heart of true damage.

Hellforged Hammer

  • Has a 25% chance to Ignite the Target on fire for 20 seconds.
  • Fiery Aura when holding

Enchant Changes:

  • Fortitude grants strength and mining fatigue instead of resistance and slowness.
  • Knockout ignites the Target on fire for 15 seconds. On proc

Soulforged Hammer

  • Obtained by Smithing the Hellforged Hammer with soul sand
  • Ignites target on fire for 8 seconds
  • Has a 25% chance to inflict Weakness for 5 Seconds
  • Soul Fiery Aura when holding

Enchant Changes:

  • Torrent inflicts Levitation 2, with the duration being dependent on the opponent's health, scaling down when their health is low.
  • Fortitude grants weakness instead of slowness.
  • Knockout inflicts 50% more blindness.

Gilded Banisher (Without Ultimate Power)

  • Can be used with a Brutal Tome
  • Basically a netherite pickaxe with gold efficiency
  • 25% chance to inflict Slowness 2 for a short amount of time
  • Has a 5% chance to inflict Gilded Stasis for 2 seconds (Sorry not sorry)

Gilded Brute Armor

  • Helmet: While Sneaking you are granted Invis (full health required)
  • Chestplate: Built-in Thorns III~. (With slightly reduced damage)
  • Leggings: No extra stuff.
  • Boots: no extra stuff.
  • Full set: Haste 1 and Resistance 1 turn into lvl 2 with a 25% duration loss.
    • Haste Amplification applies when at 25% health or less
    • Resistance Amplification applies when at higher than 75% health

Gilded Tomes

These tomes allow you to do certain things under set conditions.

Tome Name Description
Brutal Tome When attacking while holding either a Golden Axe or Gilded Banisher in your main hand and the Brutal Tome in your off-hand, gain resistance 1 or haste 1 depending on your health. Strength is applied at lower than 50% HP, resistance is applied at 50% HP or higher.
Withering Tome while holding this Tome in your off-hand and using a stone sword or Soulforged Hammer, your attacks also grant wither on you but double the time on your target.
Immunity Tome While the Tome is in your offhand it will have a chance to protect you from Death's Mark. Right-clicking grants the Gilded Immunity effect with a 30 second duration, 3 minute cooldown
Tracking Tome used to track players in the same world as you if you have an item with a soul in your main hand(requires Gilded Immunity, Gilded Empowerment, or Ultimate Power). Killing someone with the Tome in your offhand binds the opponent with the tome allowing you to track them without needing special effects by tracking with the tome in the main hand.
Cleansing Tome Used to cure Pending Death, has different Enchants for different levels. Beware; Thou Shall Still Haunt (you will be given a curse that gives a debuff to you every time you get hurt [25% chance to proc], scaling depending on what type of pending death was removed)

Effects

Effect Description
The Echofall Experience The name originates from a server that was really laggy. What this effect does is it randomly halts your momentum, basically simulating lag.
Gilded Stasis acts like a cobweb but in the form of an effect Additionally, Gilded Stasis forces you on the ground (that way you don't get kicked for flying)
Death's Mark Prerequisite for something deadly.
Gilded Immunity Removes Death's Mark and Gilded Stasis when applied.

Q&A

Q: When will you update/backport the mod to 1.x.x

A: I do not have a specific update/backport plan, all updates/backports will be dependent on whether or not I wish to do so. you are free to update/backport my mod for as long as it is not publicly available.

Q: Can I include this in my modpack

A: Yes, just make sure to credit me on the modrinth page

Q: How can I contact you if I need something removed from the mod?

A: If you are the rightful owner of content used in this mod and believe it should be removed, please contact me on discord (Handle is in the discord server) or at neptunite.horizons@gmail.com with proof of ownership and a clear reason for the request. (Example: You are the owner of Charter and the Gilded Contract is way too similar to the Contract that you made. Write me an email or contact me via discord.)

Q: I don’t like how the mod plays. Can I ask for a rework?

A: The mod is designed with a specific vision in mind. If it doesn't fit your playstyle, you are welcome to modify it for personal use or suggest changes in my discord, but I am not obligated to implement every request. Additionally, if you are wanting a specific item removed from my mod, you can do so via Item Obliterator, and for enchants, I recommend either Enchancement config or Enchantment Disabler

Gilded Banishment

Gilded Contract

Allows anyone to kill the name of whoever signs this contract (including yourself). Sneak-Interaction allows you to sign an Ultimate Power Contact

Effects

Effect Description
Ultimate Power Allows the on hit effects to work for the Gilded Banisher
Death's Mark Prerequisite for Pending Death.
Pending Death Basically a ticking time bomb, dying before the timer runs out will also trigger the bomb.

Gilded Banisher

  • has a 25% chance to inflict Death's Mark
  • if conditions are met (Target must be low, 10-8hp or less, and they must have Death's Mark) Pending Death will be applied to the target, giving them 5mins to live (10mins for Ultimate Power 2)
