About this project

What does Create: Sulfuric Resonance add?

Built Sulfuric Resonance Banner

Create: Sulfuric Resonance

0.3.1 — Industrial Pulse

Create: Sulfuric Resonance, or CSR, is a NeoForge addon for Create built around thermochemical heat, sulfur chemistry, advanced materials, resonance processing, and factory automation.

The original idea was pretty simple: Create has heat, but outside of heating recipes there isn't a whole lot you can actually do with it.

CSR takes that heat and turns it into something you can build a factory around.

Generate it, move it through dedicated infrastructure, combine it with rotation and chemistry, monitor it, interrupt it, and eventually feed it into more advanced machinery.

I try to keep CSR feeling like part of Create rather than a separate tech mod sitting next to it. Shafts, Funnels, Mechanical Arms, pipes, redstone, Wrenches, Engineer's Goggles, Ponder, and physical factory layouts are used wherever they make sense.

Not every recipe or interaction is listed here on purpose.

Ponder, advancements, JEI/EMI, and experimenting with the machines are part of learning the mod.

Current Update — Industrial Pulse

0.3.1 — Industrial Pulse is mostly about giving CSR's machinery more physical feedback, with one major new piece of Create integration.

The Thermochemical Boiler Interface can now use heat from a CSR network to heat Create steam boilers.

Interfaces can be used individually or built into connected arrays underneath a boiler. One thermochemical connection can supply an entire array, and the Interface itself does not consume kinetic Stress Units just to produce them again through a Steam Engine.

0.3.1 also gives several existing machines a much larger animation, sound, lighting, and particle pass.

Highlights include:

  • Thermochemical Boiler Interface
  • Connected boiler-heating arrays from 1–9 Interfaces
  • Thermochemical heat support for Create steam boilers
  • Boiler-powered Thermochemical Link Drive heat routing
  • Animated Thermochemical Clutch locking mechanism
  • Reworked Sulfur Burner ignition and warmup
  • Expanded Sulfuric Resonance Chamber movement and feedback
  • New machine sounds, particles, lighting, and state transitions
  • Updated Sulfuric Acid Bucket texture
  • Expanded Ponder documentation
  • Russian and Simplified Chinese localization
  • A general model, asset, synchronization, and code polish pass

Requirements

Required

  • Minecraft 1.21.1
  • NeoForge 21.1.238+
  • Create 6.0.7+
  • Java 21

Optional

  • JEI 19.42.0.387+
  • EMI 1.1.24+

JEI and EMI can be installed separately or together.

Thermochemical Heat

Heat in CSR is part of the factory, not just a recipe condition.

The Molten Rotor Furnace can turn fuel into both rotation and thermochemical heat. From there, dedicated CSR machinery can carry that heat across a factory.

Thermochemical Heat

The network includes:

Thermochemical Shafts

Carry both rotation and thermochemical heat.

Thermochemical Conduits

Extend the distance heat can travel through a network.

Thermochemical Gearboxes

Split and route thermochemical connections while still behaving as kinetic machinery.

Thermochemical Cogwheels

Dedicated cogwheels that transmit thermochemical heat alongside rotation.

Regular Create cogwheels do not transmit CSR heat.

This was intentional. Heat shouldn't accidentally spread through every cogwheel in an existing factory just because two kinetic networks happen to touch.

Thermochemical Clutch

Interrupts both rotation and thermochemical heat through redstone control.

0.3.1 also gives it a proper physical locking mechanism instead of the state change existing almost entirely behind the scenes.

Combustion Belt

Processes compatible items while they travel through a heated production line.

Thermochemical Network

Molten Rotor Furnace

The Molten Rotor Furnace is the main high-output heat and kinetic generator in CSR.

It doesn't just switch between ON and OFF.

Its output changes with temperature.

Features include:

  • Temperature-based RPM and stress generation
  • Multiple heat tiers
  • Different fuel temperatures and burn times
  • Manual and automated fuel insertion
  • Hopper, Funnel, Chute, and Mechanical Arm support
  • Fuel queues
  • Engineer's Goggles information
  • Visible inserted fuels
  • Rain-sensitive heating and cooling
  • Saved machine state
  • Custom sounds, particles, and animation
  • Full Ponder documentation

Molten Rotor Fuels

Different fuels can push the Rotor into very different operating ranges.

Sulfur Burner

The Sulfur Burner is a smaller sulfur-powered heat source for thermochemical networks.

Unlike the Molten Rotor Furnace, it is focused on producing heat rather than rotational power.

In 0.3.1 its five-second warmup now has an actual combustion sequence instead of simply waiting for a timer:

  • Ignition
  • Unstable early combustion
  • Cracking and flame feedback
  • Gradual stabilization
  • Full operating ambience
  • Brimstone Core illumination
  • Shutdown and afterglow

The mechanics are still the same underneath. It just communicates what it is doing much better now.

Create Steam Boilers

0.3.1 adds the Thermochemical Boiler Interface.

The Thermochemical Boiler Interface

This gives CSR's heat network a direct connection to Create steam power.

Interfaces are placed underneath a Create boiler and can automatically form connected arrays from a single Interface up to a full 3x3 installation.

One thermochemical shaft connection can supply the whole connected array.

Larger arrays provide more boiler heating, but with diminishing returns, and Create's normal boiler size, water supply, and Steam Engine limits still apply.

The Interface does not consume or transmit kinetic Stress Units.

The progression is intentionally:

thermochemical heat → boiler → Steam Engine → rotation

rather than requiring rotation just to produce rotation again.

The shaft connection can also be moved with a Wrench, and Engineer's Goggles show useful information about the array and its heat source.

Sulfur Industry

Sulfur runs through a large part of CSR's progression.

Sulfur

It is used for:

  • Sulfuric Acid
  • Specialized fuels
  • Thermochemical machinery
  • High-temperature processing
  • Chemical treatment
  • Advanced materials
  • Factory components

CSR uses common sulfur tags where practical so properly tagged sulfur from other mods can work with the same processing chains.

Sulfur Chemistry

Sulfuric Acid isn't just a crafting ingredient.

It is a hazardous fluid that damages living entities, reacts with parts of the environment, and is used throughout CSR's processing and material progression.

Uses include:

  • Industrial chemistry
  • Fuel production
  • Material treatment
  • Machine components
  • High-temperature manufacturing
  • Precision processing
  • Copper treatment

Crafting

Combustion Processing

CSR adds several processing methods on top of normal Create manufacturing.

Combustion Belt

Processes items while they move through a heated factory line.

Combustion Mixing

High-temperature Basin processing used throughout CSR's chemistry and material chains.

Precision Processing

The Precision Spritzer adds much more control over industrial spraying, including item and entity filtering.

Precision Spraying

Resonance Processing

Later recipes can require heat, rotation, Sulfuric Acid, specialized reagents, and longer processing conditions at the same time.

Exact recipes and requirements are left to JEI/EMI and in-game discovery.

Resonance

Resonance is one of the later stages of CSR's progression.

It brings together heat, rotation, sulfur chemistry, specialized materials, and more demanding processing.

Resonance Chamber

The Sulfuric Resonance Chamber is the main machine behind it.

The Chamber can process recipes with different combinations of:

  • Materials
  • Catalysts
  • Auxiliary ingredients
  • Sulfuric Acid
  • Heat requirements
  • RPM requirements
  • Processing time

0.3.1 also gives the Chamber a much more physical response to what is happening.

Its reaction platform moves, the rings react differently to machine state, startup behavior changes depending on the reaction, and insufficient heat, insufficient speed, READY, processing, completion, and blocked output no longer all look the same.

Intelligent Industry

0.3.0 introduced machine-state automation through Intelligent Industry.

CSR machines can report states such as:

  • IDLE
  • READY
  • PROCESSING
  • BLOCKED

That information can then be used by other factory equipment.

The system includes things like:

  • Process monitoring
  • Process Gauges
  • Redstone output
  • Factory warnings
  • Thermochemical control
  • Precision processing

Logic Bank

The point isn't to turn CSR into a computer mod.

It gives normal Create-style automation more information to react to.

Industrial Materials

CSR has several material chains that feed back into machinery, heat infrastructure, chemistry, and factory construction.

These include:

  • Ash Ceramic
  • Ash Bricks
  • Ashesil
  • Tempered Ashesil
  • Acid-Resistant Ceramic
  • Obsidian Fiber
  • Obsidian Cloth
  • Cinder materials
  • Industrial filaments
  • Acid-Etched Copper
  • Rubber
  • Resonant materials

Industrial Processing

Not every intermediate item is listed here. There are quite a few.

Tempered Ashesil

Tempered Ashesil and its Pane variant are explosion-resistant transparent building materials.

They are mainly intended for hazardous processing areas, protected machinery, and industrial builds where normal glass may not survive very long.

Rubber Engineering

CSR also has a rubber-processing chain used for machinery and factory components.

Rubber Padding is one of the more unusual results.

It can:

  • Negate fall damage
  • Bounce players and other entities
  • Bounce dropped items
  • Gradually settle items instead of letting them bounce forever
  • Work with Mechanical Arms

This makes it useful for both movement and item-handling contraptions.

Spritzers

The Perforated Spritzer stores and disperses fluids downward.

Its interactions include things involving:

  • Water
  • Fire
  • Lava
  • Sulfuric Acid
  • Entities
  • Factory processing

The Precision Spritzer builds on this with configurable item and entity filtering for more controlled automation.

Precision Spraying

Factory Automation

CSR is built with automation in mind.

Most machinery works with the same things already used around a Create factory:

  • Funnels
  • Belts
  • Chutes
  • Mechanical Arms
  • Fluid pipes and tanks
  • Redstone
  • Wrenches
  • Engineer's Goggles
  • Linked monitoring equipment

Machines are supposed to become parts of production lines, not isolated GUI boxes you walk over to every few minutes.

Ponder

Most major CSR machinery has in-game Ponder documentation.

Ponder scenes currently cover systems such as:

  • Heat generation
  • Thermochemical transmission
  • Sulfur processing
  • Combustion processing
  • Fluid handling
  • Resonance
  • Factory automation
  • Process monitoring
  • Precision processing
  • Steam boiler integration

More are added as the mod grows.

JEI / EMI

CSR has dedicated recipe-viewer support for:

  • JEI
  • EMI

Both are optional.

Custom categories cover CSR processing systems such as:

  • Molten Rotor fuels
  • Combustion Mixing
  • Combustion Belt processing
  • Resonance processing
  • Precision processing

Animated machine displays are used where they actually help explain the recipe.

JEI and EMI can be used separately or together.

Advancements

CSR has its own advancement tree covering major machines, materials, progression, and a few stranger interactions.

It is there to give players a direction without turning the mod into a checklist.

Some advancements are intentionally hidden until you discover what triggers them.

Languages

CSR currently includes:

  • English (US)
  • English (UK)
  • Spanish
  • French
  • German
  • Portuguese (Brazil)
  • Russian
  • Simplified Chinese

Localization covers major machinery, tooltips, GUIs, advancements, Ponder scenes, subtitles, and recipe-viewer text.

Installation

  1. Install NeoForge 21.1.238 or newer for Minecraft 1.21.1.
  2. Install Create 6.0.7 or newer.
  3. Put the Create: Sulfuric Resonance .jar in your mods folder.
  4. Optionally install JEI and/or EMI.
  5. Launch Minecraft.

Create is required and must be installed separately.

Release Status

0.3.1 — Industrial Pulse is the current public release.

CSR is still under active development.

New systems, integrations, fixes, compatibility work, and general cleanup will continue in later versions.

As with any modded Minecraft update, backing up important worlds before changing large parts of a modpack is a good idea.

Bug Reports and Feedback

If something breaks, reproducible reports are much more useful than "it crashed."

Please include:

  • CSR version
  • Minecraft version
  • NeoForge version
  • Create version
  • JEI or EMI version if relevant
  • Relevant logs or crash reports
  • What you were doing when it happened
  • Steps to reproduce it if you have them

Dedicated issue forms are available for bugs, crashes, and feature requests.
