About this project

What does Larger Vanilla Bags add?

This is my very first mod ever! So if this mod some how nukes your world, character, pc, or w/e else... I'm sorry. That being said, by downloading this mod you understand that it could cause issues somewhere and I will have no idea how to fix it if that is the case. Though it is quite a simple mod, so it shouldn't cause any issues unless you have other inventory editing mods.

This mod is more than likely not compatible with other inventory mods. I have not done any testing with other inventory mods so ⚠️USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

If adding this to a server (and I'm just assuming here) you'll need to have this installed both client side and server side. Again I haven't done any testing on servers so ⚠️USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

🔆In order to upgrade/ update previously crafted bags you will need🔆

1 Flax twine + 1 Bone Needle (not consumed) + (#) Base Material of Bag (not effected by config changes) + the Bag itself.

For exact materials needed for upgrading check the "What's in the mod?" section.

📢Recently Added:
  • Config file
  • Upgrade system to upgrade/ update previously crafted bags. (Atm only used in slot # updating after config changes or if the mod was added to an existing world with bags already crafted.
  • Custom item: Bone Needle (for upgrading, not consumed)

Any Knife + Any Stone + 1 Bone = Bone Needle

(Placeable locations: ground, display cases, shelves/ cabinets, and 1 secret.)

🕓Potential future additions:
  • Config file for easier personalization. (Completed)
  • Add a way to upgrade existing bags using upgrade materials. Like having to use flax twine and a bone plus what ever base material the bag is made out of. Example: Vanilla Leather Backpack + Flax Twine + Bone + Leather = LVB Leather Backpack. (Completed)
  • Add custom bone needle item and custom recipe for the bone needle, would only be used for upgrading and would not be consumed during the crafting process. (Completed)
  • Add Handbook entry showing the recipe for upgrading and Bone needle crafting. (Current Objective, kind of already working by default)
  • Make a small progression system, also add a config to enable/ disable the progression system. (For immersion) (Also Current Objective)
  • Option for limiting the amount of bags you can equip per type. You would still have all 4 bag slots but could no longer equip 4 of the same bag type. We'll see if this is even possible / ends up being its own thing. (It'll be disabled by default if it does.)

⚠️Known Bugs (please let me know if you find any others)⚠️

  • System log posts an error for the crafting recipe length for the reed basket upgrade even though it works.
  • Tool tip for bag slot count updates while slot count does not. Crafting the upgrade should update slot count for the bag itself.

Since I am still very new to modding and not at all good with C#, these could take some time. I am also working on a re-texturing mod for meteoric iron stuff, so it wont look like butter popcorn flavored jelly beans anymore. If I can figure out the re-texture mod, I'm also planning on an accessibility mod that replaces the footstep sounds that different armour makes while wearing it with the base unarmoured footstep sounds as they tend to irritate me / make my tinnitus worse in some cases.

If and when these mods get released they'll be linked here and vice versa.
