About this project
What does Pemmican and Tofu add?
Do you have bushmeat and berries? No idea what to do with them? Smash them into pemmican with stone or a hammer, let it dry and shelve it. Or put it in a stew or soup. Or wrap it in linen and keep it for the next year.
Wish you could do more with soybeans? Boil them in water, then use a fruit press to mash it into soymilk. Curdle it with a pickled veggie, add salt and make vegan cottage cheese, or wrap the curdled soymilk with linen to make tofu.
New Items:
- Pemmican
- Raw: Crafted from two bushmeat/redmeat, 3 fruits, 1 fat, and a stone or hammer (hammer not consumed obviously). Needs to dry before being eaten, or can be cooked on a campfire immediately
- Dried: Takes 3 days to dry. Preserves for a long while and can be eaten or put into stew or soup as extra protein.
- Cooked: Fired over a campfire into a delicious bar of bushmeat and fruit.
- Soymilk
- Boiled Soybeans: Boil in water inside a cooking pot. Press them before they dry out, or you will have to rehydrate them. Boiled soybeans dries into cooked soybeans which can be eaten as a snack.
- Regular: Press boiled soybeans into a fruit press. Can be drank for Dairy satiety, and curdles at a loss.
- Condensed: Boil soymilk with flour to thicken it into a condensed version with more satiety and a better curdling ratio
- Curdled: Add a pickled veggie to curdle your soymilk. Use a linen on 50L of curdled soymilk to create 10 pieces of tofu, or add 10 salt to make 50L of cottage cheese for cheesemaking
- Tofu
- Made from curdled soymilk by putting a linen in a barrel of 50L of curdled soymilk. Creates 10 pieces.
- Can be cooked on a campfire. Cooked tofu in meals will give Protein instead of Dairy (for balance reason and because I cannot put two different satiety types in one item)
1.0.4:
Fixed GUI mismatch between tooltip and inventory itemstack
1.0.3:
Added variant recipe with redmeat
Fixed long drying time in shelves and containers by making the transition process Curing instead of Drying due to vanilla behavior of drying mechanics
Added ability to stack dried and raw pemmican like ingots
Removed salted pemmican (unused)
1.0.2:
Fixed crash when opening condensed soymilk in the handbook
Fixed missing meal texture for boiled/cooked soybeans
1.0.1:
Initial mod release
Added proper credits to MrFlame's Long-term Food mod
Known Issues:
-GUI Icon for pemmican and tofu items are weirdly offset only in the tooltip Thank you jayu for the fix
-Tofu soup may yield a weird meal name
-If you ground dry your raw pemmican, the texture won't change, but it does show up as dried pemmican when you hover on it and pick it up (texture gets fixed when the stack is at 64 for some reason, but reverts if you take one)
-Putting boiled/cooked soybean in place of raw soybean in stew causes the meal to be invisible (use raw soybean for now until I can fix this) FIXED IN 1.0.2
-Opening the Condensed soymilk recipe in Handbook crashes the game (Hotfix coming soon) FIXED IN 1.0.2
Credits:
MrFlame from Long-term Food - For inspiring me and also for using the pemmican file structure he had to kickstart this project. Consider checking his mod as well.
Recommended Mods:
Metal Cooking Pots - This makes processing lots of soybeans faster, because you are limited to 6 per cooking pot in vanilla, with this you can do 24 at a time.
Compatibility:
Hydrate or Dierate - gives appropriate amount of hydration for soymilk and condensed soymilk.
