thebyte.space server tweaks

No mods are required to use this mod! 

Pre 1.22 versions includes thebyte.space Rustbound Magic Patch (which is now obsolete)

 

This mod is for our server to fine-tune the overall Vintage Story experience.
It keeps things close to vanilla - just smoother, less grindy, and without the stuff that felt unfair or needlessly annoying.

 

What this mod does:

 

• Reduced surface horror spawns
  • (they still spawn in nearby caves/rifts and may wander out)
• Rifts are less frequent and less harmful.

 

• Added recipe for the Paper Lantern in Survival mode
  • Light level reduced from 21 to 16.
• Added recipe to craft sticks from firewood using an axe
• Added recipe to craft snow blocks from snowballs and vice versa
• Added recipe to craft boards from debarked logs using an saw
• Added recipe to convert between bones and strongbones from Butchering.
• Increased stack size for Toolsmith's Handles from 4 to 16
• Increased stack size for Temporal Gear's from 1 to 16
• Increased potion capacity for jugs from 0.3L to 0.5L
• Roofs can now be rotated using a wrench

 

• Hot Springs now heal with 0.1 HPS
• Render distance of other players reduced to 500
• Player nameplates now only display when targeted

 

• Added warmth to armors
• Minor buffs and balancing adjustments for bows
• Minor buffs for all arrows, including bone arrows from Butchering
• Animal health reduced by 33% to improve hunting experience
  • Including Equus Horses and Draconis Dragons
• Equus Horses and Draconis Dragons breeding times adjusted to 30 days per month.
