About this project
What does Poison Kit add?
FineCraft PoisonKit
Poison your weapons, your arrows, and even your spike traps
What it adds
- Craftable poison kits (4 tiers): apply a poison to a weapon for a limited number of hits. Kits come in 4 tiers (Base to T3) - higher tiers deal more damage or last longer.
- Dedicated PoisonKit Bench: all kits are crafted at the
PoisonKit Bench, a custom bench with 3 tabs (DoT, Instant, Slow). Crafted at the Workbench.
- Poisoned arrows (2 bases): convert Crude or Iron arrows into DoT / Instant / Slow variants via the PoisonKit UI, available in 4 tiers (24 arrow types total). Iron arrows deal higher base damage.
- Shortbow support: fires poisoned arrows and applies the correct tiered effect on hit.
- Quick arrow selection (shortbow): while holding a shortbow, press E to choose which arrow type and tier to prioritize.
- Crossbow support: load tiered poisoned arrows into the crossbow - reload, dispatch, and charge animations all support every type.
- Poisoned spike traps: use a kit on an already placed spike trap to make it toxic (with dedicated textures and particles per poison type).
- Arrow pickup (F key): arrows lying on the ground can be picked up by pressing F, for all arrow types (vanilla + FineCraft). ⚠️ May conflict with other arrow-pickup plugins — risk of duplication if another mod already handles this interaction.
- Valor's Arrows compatibility (optional): if Valor's Arrows is installed, its 8 arrow types (Fire, Bomb, Life, Copper, Morph…) automatically integrate into the arrow selection UI — shortbow and crossbow included. No configuration required.
How to play
- Craft a poison kit at the PoisonKit Bench (crafted at the Workbench — choose your poison type and tier from one of the 3 tabs).
- Use the kit on a weapon to poison it - the weapon visually reflects the poison type and tier.
- While charges remain, your hits can apply poison to the target (and consume a charge).
- For arrows: open the PoisonKit UI, convert your arrows (choose type + tier), then use the shortbow or crossbow.
- For spike traps: apply a kit directly to an already placed trap.
HUD (optional)
The plugin displays a small UI showing the active poison type, tier badge, and remaining charges for the weapon you're holding.
