About this project

What does Another Backpack Content add?

AnotherBackpackContent

Your inventory is full again, and half of it is stone , dirt and feathers. This mod adds a backpack for each trade. Every backpack takes one type of items, and when you pick up something that fits, it goes straight into the backpack instead of your inventory.

Backpacks

Backpack Takes
Miner's Backpack (blue) Ores, bars, gems, crystals
Digger's Backpack (brown) Dirt, sand, gravel, clay, rubble, raw stone and cobble
Forester's Backpack (green) Logs, branches, roots, saplings, leaves, seeds and other plants
Hunter's Backpack (red) Hides, leather, feathers, bones, raw meat, fish
Builder's Backpack (yellow) Bricks, planks, stairs, roofs, slabs, cloth, metal, glass, deco, furniture
Adventurer's Backpack (purple) Potions, runes, essences and rare finds

Each one comes in three sizes: Small (9 slots), Medium (18) and Big (27).

How it works

Right-click with a backpack in your hand to open it. It refuses anything that doesn't belong, so your Miner's Backpack won't end up full of dirt.

When you pick up a matching item, it goes into the first backpack with room. Only what you picked up goes in. The 60 stone you keep in your hotbar for building stay where they are, and so does anything you take out of a chest by hand.

Backpacks keep their contents when you drop them, put them in a chest or log out.

Crafting

All backpacks are made at the Workbench, in the Survival category.

Size Materials
Small 4 Light Leather, 4 Plant Fiber
Medium 6 Medium Leather, 2 Bolts of Linen, 2 Iron Ingots
Big 8 Heavy Leather, 2 Bolts of Silk, 2 Cobalt Ingots

Each kind also needs something from its trade: metal ingots for the Miner, soil for the Digger, logs for the Forester, White Feathers for the Hunter, bricks for the Builder and Bone Fragments for the Adventurer. Small takes 2 of them, Medium 4 and Big 8.

There's no upgrade recipe from Small to Medium. That's on purpose: otherwise you could lose a full backpack by using it as an ingredient.

Works with BetterStorage

If BetterStorage runs on the same server, the Storage Accessor gets a Backpacks box with two buttons. Empty moves everything from the backpacks you carry into the storage network. Fill tops your backpacks up with matching items from the network.

Compatibility

  • The filters go by Hytale's item names. Items from other mods only fit if they follow the vanilla naming, for example Ore_… or Wood_…_Trunk.
