What does MEGATON NUCLEAR WARFARE Pro Edition add?
☢ MEGATON: Nuclear Warfare

"Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds." — and now, so are you.
MEGATON is the most complete nuclear arsenal ever built for Minecraft. 114 warheads, every one of them with its own 3D model, its own HD texture, its own crater and its own personality — from a recoilless-rifle round a single soldier can carry to an area weapon that erases one million blocks of terrain in a single strike.
This is not a bigger TNT. A MEGATON detonation is a simulation: a flash that lights up the countryside, a fireball, a volumetric mushroom cloud, a shock front that travels at the real speed of sound, a crater that arrives chunk by chunk, forests torn out by the roots, fallout that drifts with the wind, and — if you set it off at sea — a tsunami with real wave physics that climbs the shore and floods everything behind it.
Built from scratch for Minecraft 1.21.1 · NeoForge 21.1.250+. Every model, texture, particle and sound was generated from code. No dependencies. Install on client and server.
🎬 Anatomy of a detonation

Mushroom cloud and shock ring rolling across the sea.

Up close: the volumetric stem of the mushroom cloud.
Every warhead in the arsenal plays out the same five acts — and then its own special trait rewrites the script.
- The flash. Instant, blinding, white. The fireball lights the ground around it with real dynamic light, then fades to orange and goes out.
- The silence. Sound travels at 343 m/s. Watch from half a kilometer away and you get a second and a half of dead quiet while the cloud starts to climb.
- The slam. The shock front reaches you: the boom, the rumble, the camera shake — and, if you stood too close, ringing ears that muffle every other sound for a good while.
- The crater. It doesn't just pop into existence. It walks outward from ground zero, floored with fused Trinitite glass and ringed with Irradiated Earth and scorched ground. Past the rim the shockwave keeps going — it throws players and mobs hundreds of blocks, snaps whole forests and sets the treeline on fire.
- The aftermath. A fallout zone settles over the area, drifts, stacks with its neighbors and decays over time. Everything alive inside it starts counting rads.
🧬 The traits — why no two bombs play alike
Two warheads with the same crater can be completely different weapons. These are the behaviors that make the difference:
| Trait | What it does in game |
|---|---|
| ☠ Neutron | Barely scratches the ground. Kills everything alive under an enormous radiation dose and leaves the buildings standing. |
| ⚡ EMP | Fries redstone, lamps, consoles and launch pads across the whole area, and blinds whoever is close. |
| 🟦 Cobalt | A "salted" bomb: fallout three times wider and three times longer-lasting. |
| ☣ Dirty | A modest bang — and a whole region contaminated for a very long time. |
| 🔥 Thermobaric | Fuel-air: a shallower crater, but a sea of fire. |
| ⛏ Bunker Buster | Burrows into the ground before it goes off. The crater starts underground — nowhere to hide. |
| 🌊 Tsunami | Displaces 2.2× the water of a normal blast. Even a lake becomes a wall. |
| 🌋 Tectonic | Cracks the crust: seven fissures tear out of the crater all the way down to bedrock. |
| ✴ Antimatter | A perfect sphere of nothing. For a heartbeat before it goes off, everything is pulled inward. |
| 🕳 Dark Matter | Implodes first — for a second and a half every living thing is dragged to ground zero — then detonates. |
| 🌟 Supernova | Three detonations on the same spot: the second (125% size) 2.5 seconds later, the third (150%) at 5.5 seconds. |
| 💨 Vacuum | Burns the air out of the area. A small crater, then a four-second collapse: the low-pressure pocket rips up loose blocks and drags them — and every living thing — back to ground zero, snuffs out every fire and leaves the survivors gasping for air. |
| 🔩 Fragmentation | The casing is built to shatter. Hundreds of fragments are traced as real rays: they crack stone, punch through walls and cut down whatever stands in the open. |
| 🎆 Cluster | The dispenser opens over the target and throws out a ring of 8 to 24 bomblets on real ballistic arcs. Each one lands where the terrain actually is — down in the valley, on the hillside — and goes off as a small nuclear blast of its own. |
| ☢ Radiological | Hardly digs at all. Paints the ground with glowing radioactive slag that keeps dosing anyone who crosses it for days. |
| 🎯 MIRV | Splits near the top of its arc into three independently targeted warheads. |
| 🚀 Hypersonic | Flies at four times the speed of any other missile. A needle nose, a flat trajectory, almost no warning. |
| ✈ Cruise | Flies flat and low, hugging the terrain, instead of arcing over. |
| 🛰 Orbital | Climbs to the edge of the world height and comes back down almost vertically. |
| 🌊 Submarine | Can be launched from a pad sitting under water. |
| 🚚 Mobile | No silo required — an open pad, a launcher or a truck is enough. |
| 🏭 Silo | Needs a silo: the blast hatches have to open before the motor lights. |
📖 The complete arsenal

Plus the original World Breaker Missile from version 1.0 — the one warhead whose crater is whatever the server owner decides it should be.
☄ Cataclysms — 3 area weapons
This is what the mod is named for. These do not make a crater — they remove a region. The land is pressed down into a vast, flat bowl of glass and ash, and everything for hundreds of blocks beyond is flattened by the shockwave. The server owner has a separate ceiling for them (maxCataclysmRadius).
| Weapon | Area | Fallout | Dossier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Horizon N-500 Area Bomb | 500 × 500 | ×3.0 | A pale, sand-colored sphere. When it's over, the horizon is where your village used to be. |
| Continental Titan T-750 | 750 × 750 | ×3.5 | A steel-gray cylinder the size of a house. Over half a million blocks of surface, gone. |
| Oblivion G-1000 | 1000 × 1000 | ×4.0 | The end of the arsenal. A black sphere, one million blocks of terrain erased in a single strike — and, thanks to the async engine, your server keeps running while it happens. |

Standing inside a cataclysm crater — the horizon is the crater rim.

The same crater from above: an entire landscape erased in a single strike.
🎯 Delivery systems
A bomb is only as good as the way you get it there.

The launch terminal: live HD camera, target marking and full telemetry.

The orientable missile launcher — servos, siren and rotating beacon.

Drivable war machines: the NC-TEL launcher truck, the NC-T9 tank and the NC-203 howitzer.
- Launch Pad + Silo Hatches + Launch Console — seat the missile on the clamp, type the target coordinates, press the big red button. The hatches grind open, the motor lights, and the missile rides a column of fire out of sight.
- Heavy Missile Launcher — a 3×3 installation with a 360° turret and an elevating rail. Its fire-control terminal streams live video from four cameras (launcher, exterior, a drone over the target, missile telemetry), zooms up to 16×, lets you click on the map to mark the target, and shows a full diagnostics panel: range, apogee, flight time, CEP and kill probability. Two-key launch, air-raid siren, rotating beacon and an HD exhaust plume.
- NC-TEL "Goliath" Missile Truck — drive it into position, drop the jacks, raise the erector, open the covers — fire.
- NC-52 "Sledgehammer" Bomber — fly it yourself. Gear up, bay doors open, bombs away.
- NC-203 "Pion" Self-Propelled Howitzer — lob Heavy HE Shells, or the M-29 Nuclear Round.
- NC-T9 "Bastion" Main Battle Tank — for when you'd rather do it up close.
- And the classics: redstone, flint and steel, the remote detonator, or a countdown with the air-raid siren wailing.
Vehicle controls (rebindable): G gear / erector / spade · B bay doors / ammunition · V fire-control panel / salvo · Left click fire / release.
☢ Radiation: a real survival system
Every crater leaves a fallout zone that drifts, stacks where zones overlap and decays over time. Every living creature accumulates a dose in rads, through four stages of radiation sickness. Carry a Geiger counter — you'll hear it before you see anything wrong.
| Protective suit | Radiation | Blast | Extras |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hazmat | ~92% (full set) | — | Cheap, early-game |
| MOPP Level 4 | ~88% (full set) | 20% | Sealed mask, its own air supply, Geiger readout in the visor |
| SCP-NB-5 Juggernaut | Immune (full set) | 95% | Sealed, cancels fall landings, night vision and thermal imaging |
Build your shelter with reinforced concrete, lead glass and blast doors — and pray it's deep enough for whatever your neighbor just built.
⚙ Engineered not to melt your server
A thousand-by-thousand crater is a lot of blocks. MEGATON was built for it from day one:
- Crater planning runs on background threads from chunk snapshots; the server thread only writes the result.
- A time budget per tick, shared by every active blast, that backs off automatically when the server is under load.
- Terrain is loaded in the background ahead of the blast front — no stalls.
- All visual effects are rendered client-side from a single network packet, with a configurable particle budget.
- Measured: a full 1000 × 1000 crater in about 160 seconds with zero "Can't keep up!" warnings.
