About this project
What does Simple Item Signer add?
ItemSigner
A lightweight Fabric mod which allows players to sign items with their name and custom text, featuring a beautiful orange-to-pink gradient effect.
How does it work?
When a player holds an item and uses the /sign command, the mod adds a signature to the item's lore containing the player's name, a timestamp, and optional custom text. The signature is styled with a smooth gradient effect that transitions from orange to pink, making signed items visually distinct.
What do I have to do?
Use the following commands:
/sign- Signs the item in your main hand with your name/sign <text>- Signs the item with your name and custom text/sign remove- Removes the signature from the item/sign config- Shows the current configuration/sign timezone <zone>- Changes the timezone for timestamps (requires OP level 4)/sign deathmessages- Toggles custom death messages on/off (requires OP level 4)
The config file is located at SERVER_ROOT/config/itemsigner.json where you can set your preferred timezone and toggle custom death messages.
Custom Death Messages
When a player is killed with a signed item, the death message is automatically extended to show the signer's name and custom text. The extended part of the message uses the same beautiful gradient effect as the item signatures, making it easy to identify when a signed tool was used in combat.
Example with custom text: Steve was slain by Alex using signed tool by Admin with text: My Legendary Sword
Example without custom text: Steve was slain by Alex using signed tool by Admin
This feature can be toggled on or off via the /sign deathmessages command or by setting enableCustomDeathMessages in the config file.
