Wolf Changes- (If working properly)
So one of the biggest changes is the way wolves behave in TheHunter. Instead of just having generic enemy AI they instead start as disperser wolves, male and female dispersers will form a pack and claim a chunk as their den. From here they will expand their claims out, claims fade over time unless they patrol it. Other wolves can join their pack or form their own packs, and their pups will join their pack as well when grown up. They will prioritize claiming a cave as their main den where the pups will grow for a few weeks before moving to their above ground area, eventually growing into full wolves.
Wolf packs will avoid going into other pack territory unless invading, and during such events wolves will fight until one of the packs is chased off. Wolves will defend their den and pups to the death though.
Wolves will avoid claiming land close to player structures, campfires beds, torches. If a player builds within a wolfs territory they will investigate and try and chase the player out, their territory claims on the surrounding chunks drain faster while a player occupies it and they are unable to claim nearby chunks with the player and structures there.
Wolves will not attack on sight unless having significantly provoked them in the past, killing/skinning them, hunting in their claims repeatedly, provoking their den and pups. A wolf or wolves will approach the player threatening them to leave their area initially, if ignored they will attack, more likely to outright attack if hungry though. The player can give them meat to appease a threatening wolf temporarily, and gain a little trust.
Packs that trust the player enough will allow them in their territory and even their den if loved. Packs that love a player may bring gifts. (Needs more testing). Packs that absolutely fear the player may attack or run away on sight unless defending their den.
